Lovely Bones Reveiw

Lovely Bones
By: Alice Sebold
Review By: Gabriella Parker

Do you like to read about murder? Do like your book to give you the answers? In 1973, Susie Salmon-yes like the fish- was a young girl that had something devastating happen to her. All of her family and most of her friends go through a big crisis. The book was both interesting and disturbing at the same time. If you don't like certain things in details; you will not enjoy this book at all. This book consists of many different characters. These characters all have a special purpose in the investigation, in which they are needed for what had happened to Susie Salmon. This book often made me wonder about, is that this could actually happen to me. The character I like the most was Ruth. She has a very distinct personality. The character I most despised was Len (the cop). He didn’t even try to do his part in the investigation. Unless you pay attention to the words that you are reading you won’t get the book. Almost all of the characters are important. If you enjoyed reading this book; then I would recommend reading other books written by Alice Sebold. Most of the book was disturbing but none of it really bothered me to an extent that I had to stop reading it. I would really like it if they made a sequel to this book. I would recommend people from the age of fourteen and up would be the best suited for this book. I would definitely recommend this to people who don’t get disturbed by hearing such great detail that the author put into this book. The book had many different offerings such as life lessons on what not to do and what not to teach your children. It also taught you when and how to make the right choice on serious decisions. In many different parts of the book it is confusing but after reading a couple sentences after what was confusing or talking to someone else who read it, it then gets easier.
